Optus has cut $30 per month off its 30GB plan, bringing it down to $100 per month. While $100 per month for 30GB might still seem pricey, this does include a smartphone of your choice, which makes the offer pretty damn good value.
Most smartphones in Optus' range are available for no extra repayment fees on this plan, including the 128GB iPhone 7, the Galaxy S8, and the HTC U11. If you want a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus or a Galaxy S8 Plus, you're looking at $103 per month instead, which works out to be an extra $72 over the life of your contract. Check out the plans below.
The discount means Optus' 30GB plan ends up being cheaper than its 20GB plan when you factor in handset repayment fees, and oddly, its 6GB plan in some cases.
The Optus 30GB plan also includes unlimited talk and text, 750 international minutes, unlimited talk and text while roaming, and 1GB of data to use when roaming in zone one countries.
You'll also get data-free streaming through Spotify and Google Play Music, an Optus Sport subscription, and data-free streaming of standard definition video through Netflix, Stan, and ABC iView. Not that you need data-free streaming when you have 30GB to burn a month.
Optus will offer the $30 discount until September 4.
